La cinta dirigida por Xacio Baño se centra en Carme, una mujer introvertida y bastante solitaria que vive junto a sus padres en una pequeña aldea de Galicia. Apenas habla con ellos, y su madre, además, está enferma. Carme trabaja como panadera, pero está cansada de la vida que lleva, y tan solo quiere escapar de allí. Un día recibe una gran noticia: Ha sido aceptada para trabajar en un hotel de la ciudad. Este cambio en su vida tiene lugar en un momento de festividades en la zona en la que vive, cuando se está celebrando ?Rapa das Bestas?, una fiesta popular basada en cortarle la crin al caballo. La cinta está protagonizada por María Vázquez (?Mataharis?), Celso Bugallo (?Mar adentro?) y Tamara Canosa (?Lobos sucios?).
